Florida Gators big Alex Condon was named the SEC’s Player of the Week on Monday after a two-game run in which he almost averaged a double-double. Condon averaged 18 points, 9.5 rebounds, and four assists in victories over Vanderbilt and Auburn, the top-ranked team.

The program’s second victory over a top-ranked team this season came on Saturday when the now-No. 3 Gators beat the Tigers thanks to a 17-point and 10-rebound performance.
Condon scored 19 points, which is tied for his second-highest total of the season, along with nine rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and no turnovers in Tuesday’s victory over Vanderbilt, in which the Gators were without their best guard, Walter Clayton Jr. Condon is the third frontcourt player and seventh player in program history to win multiple SEC Player of the Week awards in a single season.
His first followed the team’s 30-point rout of Tennessee in Gainesville in January, which was their first victory against a No. 1 team this season. On Tuesday, No. 3 Florida, which on Monday achieved its highest ranking in more than a decade, will play No. 22 Mississippi State on the road.
