Former Oregon defensive lineman Johnny Bowens III is joining the AAC.
Bowens, who appeared in three games while redshirting last season and entered the transfer portal in April, committed to UTSA on Friday. He will begin his redshirt-freshman season with four years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-3, 290-pound Bowens recorded two tackles in his three games last season.
He was a four-star recruit from Judson (Texas) High, ranked No. 212 nationally and No. 26 among defensive linemen in the 2023 class according to the 247Sports Composite.
