Sepp Kuss confident of a more positive 2025 after an ‘underwhelming’ year that saw him lose….

Sepp Kuss, the American cyclist admired for his grit and loyalty to his teammates, is optimistic about 2025. Reflecting on a season he described as “underwhelming,” Kuss is determined to come back stronger after a challenging year filled with personal setbacks and unexpected hurdles. Known as a key support rider within the Jumbo-Visma team, Kuss has consistently demonstrated resilience, dedication, and impressive skill in mountainous terrains. However, 2024 didn’t go as planned for the Colorado native.

In the previous season, Kuss entered with high hopes after a successful 2023, where he had his career highlight by winning the Vuelta a España and solidifying his reputation as one of the peloton’s most dependable climbers. But 2024 had a different story in store. While he still showed flashes of brilliance on the ascents, injuries, illness, and a relentless race calendar prevented him from maintaining consistent form. The strain began to impact his overall performance, leaving him feeling less than satisfied with the season’s outcome.

“It’s been a bit of a humbling year,” Kuss shared candidly in a recent interview. “I didn’t achieve what I hoped, and there were a few missed opportunities. But I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to stay mentally and physically prepared, especially when things aren’t going your way.”

Kuss is clear-eyed about his ambitions for 2025. His training regimen will focus on bolstering his endurance and refining his performance across varied terrain. Additionally, Kuss will emphasize recuperation, aiming to avoid the injuries that sidelined him this past season. With an eye toward regaining his top form, he is expected to take on a more prominent role in the Jumbo-Visma team, hoping to leave his mark on the world’s biggest races once more.

“I’m excited to return to the mountains and give it my all,” he said. “The support from fans, my team, and my family keeps me pushing forward, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store.”
