Mike McDaniel denies rumours about him “eyeing” 49ers job

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel recently addressed rumors suggesting he was considering a return to the San Francisco 49ers, where he previously served as the offensive coordinator. McDaniel, known for his candid and often humorous responses, was quick to shut down the speculation.

“Look, I love the 49ers organization, and I’ve got great memories there,” McDaniel said during a press conference. “But right now, I’m fully committed to the Dolphins. We’re building something special here, and my focus is entirely on getting this team to where we want to be.”

When pressed about the rumors, McDaniel chuckled and added, “You know, I’ve heard all sorts of things about myself lately. Next thing you know, they’ll say I’m eyeing the space program! Seriously though, I’m not looking at any other job. I’m happy where I am.”

Dolphins players have also rallied around their coach, dismissing the rumors as just noise. “Coach McDaniel has been nothing but dedicated to us,” said Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. “He’s here every day, pushing us to be better. We’re not paying attention to any of that talk.”

McDaniel’s connection with the 49ers and their success under his tenure is well-documented, but his message was clear: his heart, and his future, are with the Dolphins.

“As far as I’m concerned, this is where I belong,” McDaniel concluded. “The grass is pretty green right here in Miami.”
