BREAKING NEWS: Penn State is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of their star player for the 2025 season—LaVar Arrington II.

LaVar Arrington II, the son of Penn State football legend and College Football Hall of Famer LaVar Arrington, has committed to play for the Nittany Lions. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 205 pounds, Arrington II is a linebacker who turned down offers from Tennessee and UCLA to join his father’s alma mater. At Charter Oak High School in California, he had an impressive junior season, recording 65 tackles and 12 sacks.

Arrington II’s decision to follow in his father’s footsteps is a significant moment for Penn State football. LaVar Arrington Sr. was known for his dynamic play and leadership on the field, and his son aims to continue that legacy. The younger Arrington’s commitment adds depth and talent to the Nittany Lions’ linebacker corps, which is expected to be a key strength in the upcoming season.

Head coach James Franklin expressed enthusiasm about Arrington II’s commitment, stating, “LaVar Arrington II is a dynamic linebacker who brings a wealth of talent and a strong football pedigree to our program. We are excited to welcome him to the Nittany Lion family and look forward to his contributions on and off the field.”

As the 2025 season approaches, the return of LaVar Arrington II is expected to energize the Penn State fan base and provide a significant boost to the team’s defensive lineup. His blend of athleticism, football IQ, and family legacy makes him a player to watch in the upcoming season.
