Nebraska Cornhuskers linebacker Javin Wright has announced his decision to return for a seventh season in 2025, opting out of the upcoming NFL Draft. This marks a historic moment, as Wright will be the first known seventh-year player in Nebraska’s program history.

Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 230 pounds, Wright has faced significant challenges during his collegiate career, including a blood clot issue that led to missed games in 2024. Despite these setbacks, he has demonstrated resilience, playing 230 snaps over the final nine games of the season.

Throughout his tenure at Nebraska, Wright has accumulated 699 defensive snaps and 317 on special teams. In the 2024 Pinstripe Bowl against Boston College, he recorded eight tackles, tying his career high and bringing his season total to 34 tackles.
