NFL Legend Randy Moss Opens Up About Health Battle, Urges Men to Prioritize Screenings

Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss has revealed he is facing a significant health challenge, urging men to prioritize their health and undergo regular screenings.

Speaking on Instagram on Sunday, the 47-year-old former Minnesota Vikings star shared that he’s “battling something internal” but remains optimistic about overcoming it. Moss refrained from disclosing specific details about his condition but emphasized the importance of early detection. “To all you men, get your blood work done, and we’ll work through it,” he advised.

Moss’s message came alongside appearances by Rex Ryan and Alex Smith on the set of “Sunday NFL Countdown.” Addressing questions about his recent use of sunglasses on camera, Moss clarified, “It’s not about being disrespectful. I’m battling something. I’ve got a great team of doctors and a strong family around me.”

The NFL legend, who played 14 seasons with teams including the Vikings, Patriots, and 49ers, remains one of the greatest receivers in league history. His 156 touchdown catches rank second only to Jerry Rice, and his career total of 15,292 receiving yards places him fourth all-time. Moss was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

In his Instagram posts, Moss asked fans for prayers, saying, “I just ask for all the prayer warriors to put their blessing hands on me and my family through these hard times.”

Moss also took the opportunity to highlight the importance of routine health screenings for conditions like colon cancer, prostate cancer, heart disease, and diabetes, reminding fans of the critical role early detection plays in overall health.
