Rams’ Cooper Kupp ‘aware’ of trade rumors as he refuses to rule out potential exit

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been at the center of swirling trade rumors in recent weeks, and it seems the veteran isn’t entirely dismissing the idea of a possible exit from the franchise. With the NFL trade deadline looming, Kupp acknowledged that he’s “aware” of the speculation surrounding his future with the Rams but stopped short of guaranteeing his long-term commitment to the team.

Speaking to reporters after a recent practice, Kupp addressed the rumors candidly. “I’m aware of everything that’s out there,” he said. “At this point in my career, I understand the business side of the NFL. I love being in L.A. and playing for this team, but nothing is ever certain in this league.” When pressed about the possibility of leaving the Rams, Kupp was non-committal. “You never say never,” he added. “My focus is on helping this team win, but we’ll see what happens.”

Kupp’s uncertain future comes as the Rams face a challenging season. After a Super Bowl win in 2021, the team has struggled to regain its form, prompting whispers of a potential rebuild. Given Kupp’s immense value, some believe the Rams could move him to acquire future assets if the team fails to turn its season around.

Rams head coach Sean McVay downplayed the rumors, stating, “Cooper is a huge part of what we do. We’re not actively looking to move him.” However, McVay acknowledged the unpredictable nature of the NFL trade market, leaving the door open to potential moves if the right opportunity presents itself.

As the trade deadline approaches, all eyes are on Kupp, who could find himself at the center of one of the season’s most significant moves.
