As the B.C. Lions push through a challenging season, star quarterback Nathan Rourke has made it clear that the team needs to adopt a greater sense of urgency if they want to find success. With the CFL season underway, Rourke emphasized the importance of every game, practice, and moment in their pursuit of a playoff spot.
“We’ve got a talented team, but talent alone isn’t going to win games,” Rourke said during a recent press conference. “We need to approach each week like it’s a do-or-die situation. There’s no room for complacency. We’ve seen how quickly things can change, and if we don’t pick up the pace, we’ll be looking back with regret.”
The Lions have shown flashes of brilliance throughout the season, particularly in their offense led by Rourke. His ability to make plays under pressure and connect with his wide receivers has kept the team competitive, but consistency has been a challenge.
