Boise State Broncos coach criticizes star players for below par performance after…

After a tough 28-17 loss against a key conference rival, Boise State Broncos head coach Spencer Danielson didn’t mince words when addressing his team’s underwhelming performance. In his post-game press conference, Danielson openly criticized several of his star players, pointing to their lack of execution as a major factor in the defeat.

“We’re better than what we showed out there,” Danielson began, visibly frustrated. “We’ve got talented players, but they didn’t perform to the standard we expect. This is Boise State. There’s a level of excellence that’s expected every time we take the field, and some of our key guys didn’t deliver today.”

Danielson singled out multiple missed opportunities on both sides of the ball, particularly targeting breakdowns in the defense and inconsistency from the quarterback position. “Our defense gave up too many big plays. You can’t let that happen and expect to win. And offensively, we were out of sync. We missed reads, missed blocks—our execution just wasn’t there,” he explained.

The coach didn’t hesitate to mention quarterback Taylen Green, who threw two costly interceptions during the game. “Taylen’s got the potential to be a game-changer, but today, he wasn’t that guy. He knows that, and we all expect more from him moving forward,” Danielson said.

Green acknowledged his coach’s criticism, stating, “Coach is right. I didn’t play the way I needed to. I’ve got to step up and make smarter decisions on the field.”

With the loss putting added pressure on the Broncos, Danielson stressed the urgency of bouncing back. “We can still turn this season around, but that starts with accountability. We have to be better, especially our leaders.”

Boise State’s next game will be crucial as the team looks to regain its rhythm and salvage the remainder of the season.
