Ohio State Buckeyes Lose Running Back for Entire 2024 Season

The Ohio State Buckeyes have suffered a setback as they prepare for the 2024 college football season. Despite being top contenders for the National Championship, the team will have to move forward without a player who was expected to play a significant role.

According to a report by Dave Biddle of BuckNuts, running back TC Caffey is set to miss the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury. Caffey, a walk-on, was anticipated to provide depth at the running back position, but his third year at Ohio State is now in jeopardy following this injury. Biddle also mentioned that BuckNuts reached out to the team for confirmation, but Ohio State declined to comment.

Caffey had been impressing during practice and was a strong contender for the No. 3 running back spot. Standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 215 pounds, he will now focus on rehabbing for a potential return in 2025. Unfortunately, this is not the first time Caffey has dealt with a major injury, as he tore his ACL during his freshman year in 2022.

While this is a tough blow, Ohio State remains well-stocked at running back with Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson leading the depth chart.

Although fans hope the report may be incorrect and that Caffey could return during the season, it appears unlikely at this point.
