Laval Rocket Sign Six Players to One-Year Deals

The Laval Rocket have secured six players on one-year contracts for the 2024-25 season, as announced by the team on Monday. These new signings include forwards Vincent Arseneau and Laurent Dauphin, defensemen Joshua Jacobs, Vincent Sevigny, and Tyler Wotherspoon, along with goaltender Hunter Jones.

Arseneau, hailing from Quebec, spent the previous season with the Providence Bruins, where he recorded nine points (six goals, three assists) over 44 games. Dauphin, returning to North America after playing in Switzerland, previously spent two seasons with the Rocket from 2020 to 2022. He had 38 points in 44 games last season with HC Ambri-Piotta.

Defenseman Jacobs, from Michigan, last played during the 2022-23 season for the Colorado Eagles. Though he signed with the Springfield Thunderbirds the following season, he did not play any games for them. Another Quebec native, Sevigny, joins from the Bridgeport Islanders, having scored five points in 33 games last season. Wotherspoon arrives after three seasons with the Utica Comets, posting 22 points in 65 games in his final season there.

Lastly, goaltender Jones spent four seasons within the Minnesota Wild organization, primarily playing in the ECHL with the Iowa Heartlanders, where he recorded a 5-9-2 record last season.

While these signings may not be headline-grabbing, they represent key depth additions for the Rocket ahead of the 2024-25 season, with all players expected to contribute throughout the year.
