Georgia Wide Receiver Arrested on Six Counts

Rodarius “Rara” Thomas, a wide receiver for the Georgia Bulldogs, was arrested on July 26th at 3:20 AM. He faces three counts of Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree and three counts of Battery – FV. According to Athens-Clarke County arrest records, no bail has been set. The University of Georgia’s Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Communications, Steven Drummond, commented, “This is a pending legal matter. We will have no further comment at this point.”

This isn’t Thomas’ first legal issue while at Georgia; he was previously arrested in January 2023 on charges of Family Violence and False Imprisonment, which were later dropped. Thomas, a former 4-star recruit from Eufaula, Alabama, transferred from Mississippi State to Georgia before the 2023 season and contributed significantly to the Bulldogs’ offense. However, his future with the team is uncertain following this latest arrest.

Thomas’ arrest adds to a string of legal issues for the Georgia Bulldogs this year, though most have been driving-related. His arrest comes just days before the Bulldogs begin fall camp for their challenging 2024 season, which starts with a game against the Clemson Tigers in Atlanta.

The situation will be updated as more information becomes available.
