Georgia Tech and head coach Brent Key are on an impressive streak. Recently, the Yellow Jackets secured their first-ever five-star recruit, offensive lineman Josh Petty. During the season’s opening college football game, GT pulled off a dramatic 24-21 victory over No. 10 Florida State with a last-minute field goal.
Now, it’s reported that Georgia Tech has achieved another significant recruiting success. Christian Garrett, a four-star defensive lineman previously committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, has decided to stay in-state and play for the Yellow Jackets. Garrett mentioned that he felt at home at Georgia Tech and that the program’s strong academics and Coach Key’s impact played a big role in his decision.
Georgia Tech is building momentum, with its 2025 recruiting class now ranked among the top 20 nationally. Garrett is highly regarded, ranked as the No. 18 defensive lineman in his class by 247Sports Composite. The Yellow Jackets’ recent success, including their win over Florida State, has put them in a strong position moving forward.
