The Capitals will not be trading for Yaroslav Askarov, despite speculation following the Nashville Predators prospect’s trade request.
Former Capitals GM Brian MacLellan has already addressed the goalie position by trading Darcy Kuemper to the LA Kings and acquiring Logan Thompson from the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Capitals’ current goalie lineup for the 2024-25 season consists of Charlie Lindgren and Logan Thompson. Lindgren, who performed well last season, is set to compete for the starting position.
With this lineup in place, it is unlikely the Capitals will pursue Askarov at this time.
