Revealed: Why Former Texas WR Agiye Hall couldn’t join the UCF program

According to Stephen Leonard of CBS Sports/247Sports, former Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Agiye Hall did not join the UCF program at the start of fall camp this week.

Hall, who was initially expected to join UCF as a walk-on for the 2024 football season, had previously been reported to be joining the Knights during the spring transfer portal window.

Hall’s last season with the Longhorns was in 2022, after transferring from Alabama following the 2021 season. However, his time at Texas was marred by off-the-field issues, leading to multiple suspensions and his eventual departure from the program before the end of the regular season.

During his stint with Texas, Hall made just one catch for seven yards in the Week 4 game against Texas Tech, appearing in only four games and playing 17 snaps under head coach Steve Sarkisian in 2022.

Before his transfer to Texas, Hall played his freshman year with Alabama in 2021, recording four catches for 72 yards, including two receptions for over 50 yards in the College Football Playoff against Georgia.

In 2022, Texas concluded the season with an 8-5 overall record (6-3 in the Big 12). Meanwhile, Alabama finished the 2021 season with a 13-2 record (7-1 in the SEC), securing the SEC Championship and winning the College Football Playoff semifinal against Cincinnati before falling to Georgia in the National Championship Game.
