Amid recent reports suggesting a strained relationship between Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and several players, Moore has publicly expressed confidence in the support he receives from the university and its football program.
Moore, who has been a key figure in Michigan’s offensive schemes, addressed the rumors in a recent press conference. “I understand there are reports out there, but my focus is on the team and ensuring we’re all moving in the same direction,” Moore said. “I’ve had great conversations with the players and coaching staff. We’re working through things as a team.”
The speculation began after a few anonymous sources suggested tension between Moore and some players, sparking concern about the cohesion within the team. However, Michigan’s head coach Jim Harbaugh has publicly backed Moore. “Sherrone is a valued member of our coaching staff,” Harbaugh stated. “His commitment to the team and his leadership are unquestionable. Any challenges are part of the process, and we’re all working together to address them.”
Senior quarterback J.J. McCarthy also weighed in, noting that while disagreements can occur, they are part of the competitive nature of the sport. “We’ve had some tough conversations, but that’s how you grow as a team,” McCarthy said. “Coach Moore has been transparent and supportive. We’re all committed to our goals and each other.”
Moore remains optimistic about the season ahead, emphasizing that the focus remains on improving and achieving success together.
