Five weeks ago, at the beginning of the Tour de France, the Tadej Pogacar Foundation was launched. This platform, with Pogacar as its figurehead, aims to raise funds for charities. Through this initiative, the Slovenian cyclist is looking to give back, as he recently shared for the first time on the charity’s Instagram page.
Pogacar is committed to helping those in need, stating, “Sharing happiness with others is important.” He reflects, “It’s no secret that I’ve earned a lot of money from cycling in recent years. When I was younger, I never imagined I would be so fortunate.” Despite his success, Pogacar admits feeling somewhat uneasy with his wealth, explaining that accumulating such amounts was never his goal.
“I honestly don’t feel entirely comfortable with this money. I understand how those who struggle and need help feel. My family always taught me to share my happiness and support those in need. These values are very important to me. My greatest wish is to help,” Pogacar said. One of the Foundation’s new projects focuses on assisting people affected by the floods in Slovenia during the summer of 2023.
