Coach Mike Gundy not worried about Oklahoma’s decision regarding his future with the Cowboys

Amid swirling rumors about his future with the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Coach Mike Gundy remains unfazed. In a press conference held Tuesday afternoon, Gundy addressed the speculations with his characteristic candor.

“Look, I’ve been here a long time, and I’ve seen and heard it all,” Gundy said, leaning back in his chair, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. “Decisions are made every day in this business, and I’ve never been one to worry about things I can’t control.”

When pressed about whether he felt any pressure from the administration or the fan base, Gundy shrugged. “I’m focused on my team and getting them ready for the season. That’s my job. The rest, well, it’s not up to me.”

Senior linebacker Tyler Lacy echoed his coach’s sentiments. “Coach Gundy has always been a rock for us,” Lacy said. “He’s straightforward, and he keeps us focused on what matters – playing football and winning games.”

Oklahoma State Athletic Director Chad Weiberg offered a measured response when asked about Gundy’s future. “We have full confidence in Coach Gundy and his ability to lead our team,” Weiberg stated. “Right now, our focus is on the upcoming season and supporting our players and coaches.”

For fans, Gundy’s nonchalance is both reassuring and frustrating. Local sports commentator Jane Smith noted, “Gundy’s approach is classic him – steady and unbothered. It’s a quality that has served him well over the years, but it does leave the fans wanting more clarity.”

As the Cowboys prepare for another challenging season, Gundy’s focus remains firmly on the field, where he believes all answers will ultimately be found. “We play the game. We win. Everything else will take care of itself,” he concluded with a confident nod.
