Trois-Rivieres Lions Release 2024-25 Schedule

During the Kelly Cup finals, where the Florida Everblades clinched their third consecutive championship, the ECHL unveiled the 2024-25 regular season schedule.

The Trois-Rivieres Lions will begin their fourth season by hosting the Reading Royals (Philadelphia Flyers) on Friday, October 18th, at Colisee Videotron.

In their 72-game schedule, the Canadiens’ ECHL affiliate will face division rivals Worcester Railers (New York Islanders) and Adirondack Thunder (New Jersey Devils) 15 times each, likely fostering strong rivalries by April.

With the Newfoundland Growlers ceasing operations in April 2023, the Wheeling Nailers (Pittsburgh Penguins) have transitioned from the Western Conference’s Central division to the Eastern Conference’s North division. The Lions will encounter their new division rivals six times during the season.

The Lions’ longest road trips will span from December 8 to 22 and January 10 to 19, featuring two six-game stretches away from Colisee Videotron. Last season, a seven-game road trip from November 22 to December 3, during which the team won only twice, triggered a downward spiral of just seven wins in 31 games.

The longest homestand for the Lions will occur from February 22 to March 9, with Ron Choules’ team playing eight consecutive games at Colisee Videotron. They will host the Thunder twice and the Norfolk Admirals (Winnipeg Jets and Carolina Hurricanes) and Railers three times each.

The organization also announced plans for its first affiliation game in its history, with details to be provided later, expected to involve the Montreal Canadiens and the Laval Rocket.
