UTSA coach Jeff Traylor set new rules for his players ahead of the 2024 season

San Antonio, TX – As the 2024 football season approaches, UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor has announced a series of new rules aimed at fostering discipline and enhancing team performance. These changes come as Traylor looks to build on the Roadrunners’ recent successes and push the team towards greater achievements.

In a recent team meeting, Traylor addressed his players with a clear message: “Our goal this year is to not just compete but to dominate. To do that, we need to be a well-oiled machine on and off the field. That starts with discipline and accountability.”

One of the key changes involves stricter attendance policies for team activities. Players will now be required to attend all team meetings and workouts, with penalties for unexcused absences. Traylor explained, “Being present isn’t just about showing up. It’s about being committed to the team and to each other.”

Additionally, Traylor has introduced a new “team-first” rule that emphasizes selflessness both on and off the field. “We’re a family,” he said. “That means looking out for each other, supporting one another, and putting the team’s success ahead of individual accolades.”

Players have responded positively to these changes. Senior linebacker Jake Daugherty commented, “Coach Traylor’s rules might seem strict, but they’re exactly what we need. They push us to be our best and keep us focused on our goals.”

With the new rules in place, the Roadrunners are gearing up for a season they hope will bring them closer to their championship aspirations.
