Shedeur Sanders, the quarterback for Colorado State, has made history as the first high-profile college athlete to land a significant NIL deal with Smoothie King, according to Sports Illustrated. This partnership establishes Sanders as a spokesperson for the Dallas-based franchise, which has strong connections with both the NFL and the NBA.
Starting November 21, all Smoothie King locations will offer “The Shedeur” Smoothie, Sanders’ signature blend that features an Angel Food smoothie base, enhanced with blueberries and multivitamins.
Expressing his excitement to Sports Illustrated, Sanders said, “I’ve always wanted to partner with Smoothie King, and now it’s happening. Training is about building a good foundation and ensuring you’re fueling your body for optimal performance. Smoothie King has always been part of my routine. It’s convenient, tastes great, and keeps me energized between classes and practice.”
Ranked second on On3’s NIL 100 list with a valuation of $3.8 million, Sanders continues to expand his impressive portfolio of NIL deals, which includes partnerships with Brady Brands, Beats by Dre, Nike, Mercedes-Benz, and Gatorade.
As the son of NFL Hall of Famer and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, Shedeur has followed his family’s legacy to Boulder and delivered an outstanding performance for the Buffs this year. A semifinalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, he currently ranks tenth in FBS with 3,230 passing yards, contributing 27 touchdowns with only three interceptions. Leading the nation in completions (298) and attempts (430), Sanders has showcased exceptional accuracy as a college quarterback.
Recently, Sanders set a CU record for single-season passing and is on the verge of breaking the school’s all-time touchdown record in the upcoming game against Utah.
Off the field, Sanders has shown remarkable business acumen, mentored by prominent figures like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Geno Smith, and Russell Wilson. As the 2023 season wraps up, Shedeur Sanders continues to make waves both in athletics and business.
