UTSA has added the Incarnate Word Cardinals to its 2025 football schedule.

The Roadrunners will face UIW at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. UTSA will pay the Cardinals $325,000 for the game, according to the contract obtained through a state public records request. This matchup will be the second time the teams have met; they first played on August 31, 2019, when UTSA won 35-7. UIW, an FCS team in the Southland Conference, is entering its second season under head coach Clint Killough, who led them to an 8-2 record in his first year.

With this addition, UTSA’s non-conference schedule for 2025 is nearly complete. The Roadrunners will start the season on August 30 against the Texas A&M Aggies and have their home opener on September 6 against the Texas State Bobcats. They are set to wrap up their non-conference games with a road matchup against the Colorado State Rams on September 20. For UIW, UTSA is the fourth known non-conference opponent for the 2025 season, joining Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, and Samford.
